Serving on a Board

The next Board election will be Tuesday, November 3, 2020. There will be 4 seats up for election. Position 2, Position 5, Position 6, and Position 7. If you wish to run for the School Board, the first day to file for a place on the General Election Ballot will be Monday, July 20, 2020. The last day to file for a place on the General Election Ballot will be Monday, August 17, 2020. Please call or come by to visit with Amy Garcia or Pam Wagner in the Business Office located beside the library.

Board Meeting Schedule

The Board usually meets at 7:00 pm on the third Monday of each month at the Louise ISD Board Room located inside the Elementary School. Special meetings may be called when necessary. A written notice of regular and special meetings will be posted at the Administration Office and on-line through the Boardbook link above at least 72 hours before the scheduled meeting time. The written notice will show the date, time, place, and subjects of each meeting. In emergencies, a meeting may be held with two hours notice.

Texas Open Meetings Act

All meetings are open to the public. Texas Law permits the Board to go into closed session to discuss prospective gifts or donations, real property acquisition, personnel issues including conferences with employees and employee complaints, security matters, student discipline, or to consult with attorneys. The public is excluded from closed sessions.
